AARON MARSALA - Chicago, IL

Aaron is a world percussionist who has studied music his whole life and falls in love with it again each and every day. He received his Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Music Performance from the University of Kentucky, as well as his Master’s in World Music Performance at Northern Illinois University. With his own unique voice influenced by many cultures around the world, Aaron has adapted his music to the handpan. With the handpan as an empty slate for musical expression and style, Aaron performs and teaches the handpan as a solo artist as well as collaborating with a variety of other groups he has met while traveling. Whether teaching online or in person, Aaron’s teaching style is a blend of classical western academia and a variety of different pedagogies he has studied from cultures around the globe.
